        Color embodies a power which affects us all -- a vibration of the human soul.  My mission, in my 2008 paintings, is to explore the many facets of color through the structure of trees as my foundation.  Trees have a hold on me -- they are stately, majestic, proud, content, strong, beautiful, and accepting.  I want to show ways of seeing trees in nature, observed with a twist, using glorious color -- colors that create their own light.  That is the joy and challenge for me.  That is my passion.

        The source of inspiration for all of my art is Nature – its power, beauty and mystery -which inspires me through all of my senses.  It is my desire to draw the viewer into a vastness undefined and hope they become involved in their own personal journey and discovery in viewing my painting.  It will suggest different things to different viewers.  With allusion and visual suggestion comes artistic meaning.  Each viewer will make my art what he or she wants it to be and create a feeling they wish to have.

    My work is ever changing, ever challenging and always a passionate delight.  I am fascinated by tex ture, color and form which helps me express my own inner feelings.  When I am painting, there is only me and my passion.  All else falls away while I am in that moment, open for change and challenge, always evolving.

    An underlying theme to my work is a spiritual search.  I call my paintings “evolutionary” and they will continue to evolve as I do.
